As we head into February I’m thinking long and hard about how I can show my fellow networkers some love. Not Valentine’s Day cards, not flowers, chocolates or any of the other things that people think about when one says “show them some love” but rather something that may be even more valuable.
Introductions. Leads. Contacts. Connections.
And that’s exactly what I plan to do for the month of February.
For me it’s the perfect time to do the following:
- Connect with 5 fellow networkers per day and see how I can help them. This isn’t going to be a “feel good call” but rather one in which some nitty gritty details are discussed.
- Make 5 proactive introductions each day (whew) by going through my database.
- Schedule more in-person meetings and “Six in the City gatherings. (Don’t know what that is? Ask me:)
- Show myself some love by eliminating networking time-wasters that have in the past yielded nothing despite much effort.
