Do you network? Do you feel that you are getting the very best ROT (return on time) and ROI (return on investment) from your efforts?
Here are 5 things that you can do right now to get better results:
Network more strategically and with greater passion and purpose. Use your time wisely and select your events and groups carefully. Here in New York you can network morning, noon and night, seven days a week. Remember that not every group is good for everyone. Find your community.
Connect with your networking powers partners and ask for their help. Sometimes you just have to put it out there and turn to the people with whom you have a close networking relationship. Ask these contacts for introductions and be as definitive as possible. They may very well know someone that you have been prospecting for ages.
Stop wasting time and making excuses. There really isn’t much to say about this point except, “just do it.”
Follow up with your existing networking contacts with whom you have fallen off the grid. We’re all busy. Chances are if you haven’t stayed in contact then you are simply not on their mind. Stay close and see your networking ROT (return on time) improve dramatically.
Be proactive and be a giver. While I don’t believe that givers always get, I do know that if you are out there making proactive introductions you will be top of mind and will very likely be on the receiving end of some introductions as well.
Get started now before 4th quarter is a wrap and see how you can make the networking that you are already doing generate better results.
